HAPPY BIRTHDAY FISHER!

Yesterday was my first birthday!!! I'm one year old! Can you believe it?!? I had such a fun birthday too. Mom and I wrestled around all morning (I like to pin her down and the slobber all over her face). Then, we got tired of waiting for the rain to stop and ventured out for a jog around the neighborhood. The rain was really coming down and the wind was blowing a bit but, I was enjoying myself--I talked to Mom all through her run--"Faster Momma, Faster!"

We made some cupcakes and cream cheese frosting (YUM)--I insisted on tasting all of the different colors of frosting while Mom made them. She said they all tasted the same but, I wanted to test each one just to make sure.

Uncle Ryan & Aunt Diana came over for dinner and helped me unwrap my presents. I got some fun toys & clothes, money for my piggy bank and coffee (well, the coffee was for Mom but, coffee makes her happy and a happy Momma means a happy baby!--thanks Auntie Diana!).

Then came the highlight of the day--I got to eat my very own cupcake! Oh man was it good. The more I ate the more excited I got! My head was spinning by the end of it!

Makin' Memories...

Well, I don't know about you but, I can't stand long car rides. We just got back from spending a long weekend in Bend, Oregon and I am absolutely sick of my car seat. FOUR HOURS DRIVE, strapped into a five-point harness, can't crawl anywhere, can't reach anything, can't see anyone...miserable. If we didn't have so much fun in Bend then I'd be really angry about the whole situation but, I had a BLAST so, I guess it was worth it.

In Bend, the animals come to you. Not like here at the house where the cat avoids me and I have to chase her around all day. In Bend, all you have to do is stand there and the wildlife comes right up to you. The condo we stayed in was on a golf course and there were deer everywhere! And when we would go out on the deck, they would walk right up to us! Then, we went for a walk by the river that runs through downtown Bend and there were ducks everywhere! Hundreds of them! I was so excited about all the ducks that I didn't even care that Mom, Dad, Uncle Ryan and Aunt Diana fed them all of my Cheerios.

The Duck Whisperer

While on our little vacation we spent a day at Mt. Bachelor--Uncle Ryan tried to teach Mom how to snowboard....it was so embarrassing. She sucks. I stayed inside the lodge with Auntie Diana for the first half of the day--we went outside a few times to watch Mom but, it was a sad show. Dad tried to pick up skiing again and he did pretty well after a slightly rough start. As soon as Mom felt that she had thoroughly beat herself up, she came into the lodge and spent the second half of the day with me while Uncle Ryan and Aunt Diana made a few runs down the mountain--they were fun to watch--they actually know what they're doing.

Grandma & Grandpa had to leave and go back to Alaska last week. It was so sad to see them go. I had SO MUCH FUN with them while they were here visiting. We went on a lot of walks, Grandpa spent a lot of time trying to teach me how to walk, Grandma cooked me a TON of delicious food, they taught me a bunch of new tricks--we made a lot of fun memories. Can't wait for them to come back in March...

Christmas Fun

Merry Christmas! Okay, hands down, best holiday of my life so far. Christmas is awesome! Between the parties, spending time with Grandma & Grandpa, eating turkey and taking all of the ornaments off of the tree, this time of year is full of new discoveries and exciting events! So much to do--so little time!

Opening gifts was a lot of fun. I got a few new outfits, a wooden train that spells out my name, a new nightlite, toys and CHEERIOS!!!!!!! Multi-grain Cheerios---soooo good! I had to open the box right away and start snacking while everyone else opened their gifts.

Playing with my presents

Grandma & Grandpa have been here for the holidays and we have been having so much fun together. We read books, play games, they've taught me some new tricks (I can say "uh-oh", "whoof" life a dog, clap my hands and raise my arms up high when someone says "touchdown!") and, perhaps the best of all, we've been dancing like crazy! I LOVE to dance--I hardly need a beat at all and I just have to start moving--I can't seem to keep my legs still!

The sun was shining bright today so we packed a lunch and took Grandma & Grandpa south to Cape Perpetua for a hike. It was fun playing in the woods but then they put me in the stroller and I couldn't help but take a nap. I'll tell you what, hiking it tough duty--takes a lot out of you.

Cold Winter Days

The last few days have been really cold with temperatures in the 20s & 30s--pretty cold for the Oregon coast. The sun is shining though so, we just had to get outside and get some fresh air. When Dad got home from work on Monday, we loaded up in the truck and headed South to Cape Perpetua. The views from the top are awesome--huge, old growth spruce trees and views of the coastline that go on for miles and miles. Mom let me play around in the woods some which was tons of fun.

Mom and I have been working on cleaning and organizing the house a bit over the past few days. Here I am helping by playing with the cat under my bedroom door. Someone needs to keep her entertained...

Lighted Boat Parade

I took my first ride on a Coast Guard boat last night! It was awesome....well, it was really cold and I slept through most of it but, towards the end when I was awake and warm....it was awesome!

We were on the 52' MLB Victory to lead the lighted boat parade in Yaquina Bay. There were a lot of people on the boat and a lot of boats in the parade--all decorated up in lights and Christmas decorations! The sunset behind the Yaquina Bay bridge was gorgeous...a perfect evening for a boat ride.

Dad was driving the boat so I hung out with Mom & Papa (he came over from Tigard). It was soooooo cold. I was bundled up in A LOT of clothes....plus a life jacket & more blankets wrapped around me on top of that and I was still cold--and not too happy about it! Papa took me down inside the boat where it was warmer and I crashed out. I woke up just a few minutes before we moored up but I got to see all of the boats decorated in their lights and wave at all the people watching us from the bayfront.
